This is how many pies the average Kiwi eats in a year!

Not that we make the questionnaire for New Zealand citizenship but if we did just know that the first question would be "Do you like pies?" with about 100% weight on that one question.

Sure, it would make the remaining questions on the paper redundant buuuuut we think that's the question that means the most.

So how many pies do Kiwis, lovers of pies, eat a year? Think of all those situations that are made better by a pie, sports games, lunchtime snack, day at the beach, at the park, surely as a nation we're downing some savouries?

Well according to Food Standards New Zealand the average New Zealander eats 15 meat pies a year.

Collectively that is 66 million pies!
