People are reporting that Facebook Messenger went down for everyone across the world.

Apparently, the Facebook Messenger app went down for around 20 minutes earlier this morning. Users received a message saying that sending couldn't be completed.
Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch were most affected by the outage.
