Oprah's sad Thanksgiving news

Oprah's released some sad news today, revealing that her mother Vernita Lee died in her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day. She was 83.

Oprah's spokesperson said that she had passed away on November 22 and that private funeral services had already been held.

Oprah also announced the passing of her mother on her social media, writing a short message thanking her fans for their messages.

Oprah has previously said that the relationship between her and her mother had been a difficult one but had healed over time and her mother had appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
