Not that we need to tell you, whether you're a staunch New Zealand rugby league supporter or not, Johnathan Thurston is one of those players that you can't help but admire, love and adore.

The future NRL immortal and Queensland great received the Australian Human Rights Commission's medal in recognition of his ongoing commitment to improving the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The accomplished NRL star gave a funny yet heartfelt speech to a crowd of people in awe BUT managed to tap into his New Zealand heritage to open:

In his speech, Thurston drops the 'Nek Minit' before explaining:

"It is truly humbling receiving this award...You may know that I'm passionate about my sport. My club. My state. My country. But, what I am most passionate about is my culture and the future generations about my people"

Can he just stop being the man please...making us look bad and stuff!
