He tino rawe tenei kawepūrongo!

17-year-old Hastings native and McDonald's employee Jershon Tatana is inspiring te reo Māori speakers of all levels to speak the language where possible, he himself committing to do so at his Mahi.

A video has been taking over the Internet of a lady ordering her McDonald's order from Jershon in full te reo Māori.

As a result, more people have been turning up and ordering in Māori and Jershon is stoked with the outcome. In an interview with Te Kaea, Jershon explains "don't think they knew that I was able to speak Māori but that's all good. The main thing is that we're speaking our language so it lives."
