A pair of Kanye West Grammy-worn 2008 Yeezy's has smashed all sorts of records by selling for $2.5 million NZD in an auction overnight.. Sheeeeeeesh!

The 'Nike Air Yeezy 1' was bought by RARES, a sneaker investment marketplace that allows the public to invest in the world's rarest sneakers.

The sale has also tripled the previous shoe sale record, which was a pair of '85 Jordan 1s (that Michael Jordan wore when he famously shattered the backboard during a pre-season game in Italy).

The shoes were worn at the 2008 Grammy awards, where Yeezy picked up eight nominations and winning two.

'Ye also performed, singing his hit 'Stronger' and 'Hey Mama' - a tribute to his Mother Donda West who passed away in 2007.
