One Love Donates $15,000 To A Special Charity!

One Love 2016 was a huge success and the love remains in the air when the festival donated $15,000 to charity!

The promoter behind this year’s reggae festival PATO ENTERTAINMENT, has donated a cheque for $15,000 to the One Love charitable partner - Homes Of Hope Charitable Trust.


“We are proud to be supporting an amazing organisation like Homes of Hope, who take care of kids in need,” says Pato Alvarez, director of PATO ENTERTAINMENT.

“Kids are the future and that’s what we see – if we all help a little, especially with the kids, the future will be better for all of us. What Homes of Hope is doing is amazing."

“This is the second year we have done this and in the first year we kept it private, but now we want to announce it - not to show off but to send a message to other businesses around the country to do the same! Every little bit helps to be a better world.”

Homes of Hope Charitable Trust provides an innovative response to children in need of care and protection due to neglect and/or abuse. Based in the Bay, Homes of Hope is an amazing foundation that ensures our future leaders are given every opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable environment – and for the 2016 festival, One Love gave back to the community – with every ticket sold to the festival donating $1.

Homes of Hope are beyond ecstatic at the $15,000 donation, with spokesperson Hilary Price saying:

“We are obviously amazingly and HUGELY STOKED to have the support of Pato and his team and the One Love event! On so very many levels!

“The support, encouragement and friendship mean everything to us. And the HUGE financial contribution will allow us to continue building our services to support these most vulnerable children. Because they matter! They have many varied needs to be met and we are passionate about giving them that support, just as we do with our own tamariki.

“Developing our Child Centred Play Therapy child counselling practice, along with a Mentoring Care practice will be a strong focus for us this year, and these funds will greatly help in that regard. The event’s name says it all really – One Love …. One Child at a time ... all doing something to make their world and ours a better place!”

More than 15,000 people attended the One Love 2016 festival across Waitangi weekend on February 6 and 7 at the Tauranga Domain.
