Ariel Winter hits back at her mothers savage comments

Ariel Winter's estranged mother Chrystal Workman made some harsh comments about her actress daughter.

Earlier this week she spoke to InTouch Weekly about the Modern Family star's dressing habits saying she needs to 'grow up' and 'dress properly.'

The Sofia The First actress took to Twitter the next day to respond and without using her mother's name said: 'What's sad is that you lie consistently. Also, why is it that you only choose to talk to me through the press? I'm doing just fine. Toxic.'

Winter added a red circle with a line through it which is the sign for stop.

Workman also told the magazine: 'I feel sad that she feels the need to expose herself when it’s not necessary.'

Workman then addressed the teen's standing in Hollywood: 'Ariel is smart, beautiful and talented. She is a legitimate actress. She does not need to do this. She is beautiful with her clothes on.'

Ariel is known for showing off her figure in skimpy bikinis on the beach and with daring cut-out dresses on the red carpet, but she is only doing what other stars her age - Kylie Jenner, Bella Thorne - are doing.

The beauty has argued she does so to promote body confidence in young women.

The 19-year-old has also said that she loves her figure now after getting a breast reduction from a size F to a D in 2015 and should be able to dress however she wants. 

Workman's public criticism is alarming as she does not have a relationship with her successful daughter.

Ariel became emancipated in 2015. She accused her mother of abusing her physically and emotionally.

And these new comments would seem to promise they will not make up anytime soon, especially since Ariel accused her mother of trying to 'sexualize' her when she was very young.
