If you're already craving a cheeky alcoholic bevvy and it's only 10am on Tuesday then you can probably consider yourself an average Kiwi.

BUT whilst we may seem like a country that loves the booze, we're not actually too bad in comparison to a whole heap of other countries.

Vouchercloud.com has mapped the world's booziest countries based on how much alcohol each person consumes in litres per year and the results for New Zealand aren't what we'd expect!

The top countries are as follows:

1. Lithuania - 18.2 litres pp
2. Belarus  - 16.4
3. Moldova - 15.9
4. Russia - 13.9
5. Czech Republic - 13.7
5. Romania - 13.7
6. Croatia - 13.6
6. Bulgaria - 13.6
7. Belgium - 13.2
8. Ukraine - 12.8
8. Estonia - 12.8
9. Slovakia - 12.3
9. Hungary - 12.3
9. Latvia - 12.3
9. United Kingdom - 12.3
9. Poland - 12.3
10. South Korea - 11.9

But where did NZ place? 37th with 10.1 litres consumed per person, per year.

The Aussies did beat us, placing 26th with 11.2 litres pp!
