Rapper RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan is up to something unconventional again.

The rap group will release eight songs from its upcoming 20th anniversary album, A Better Tomorrow, on Nov. 14 via a portable Bluetooth speaker called a Boombot REX.

Only 3,000 speakers will be manufactured, and each will be sold for $79.99. Further, one of the eight songs will be available exclusively on the speaker, and will not be released as part of the album (though someone will likely upload it illegally online for the masses to hear). The released date for the full album has not been set.

" There's something transcendent about being able to physically hold music There's something transcendent about being able to physically hold music," RZA said in a statement. "Back in the day, holding a vinyl helped you appreciate just how much time and sweat goes into creating a single track, let alone an entire album. Over the last decade, we've lost that sensation. With this project, we hope to strengthen the bond between fan and artist."

Earlier this year, the Wu-Tang Clan announced it would sell only one copy of another album — reportedly for millions of dollars — that the group had been secretly recording — The Wu — Once Upon A Time In Shaolin. Just 51 seconds of that album is available online, as the rest of it is only available to hear during a listening tour at museums, galleries and music festivals.

The anniversary album's non-traditional release continues the group's head-scratching strategies.

In an Instagram post, below, RZA emphasized, "Music should only be heard through something as loud and as strong as the message inside."
