Parents! TVNZ have got you covered if your tamariki are struggling with being stuck at home during the lockdown, with kids programs running from 6:30am until 4:30pm weekdays across TVNZ's platforms.

TVNZ announced today that they would be launching DUKE Jr. and extending kids content on TVNZ 2 from Monday 30 March.

On TVNZ 2 a kids content block will run from 6.30am to 10.30am weekday mornings. Kids programming will kick off again at 3pm to 4.30pm, starting with Les Mills BORN TO MOVE, a workout designed for young children and teens.

TVNZ have also launched DUKE Jr. which will run on the current DUKE channel, Freeview channel 13 and Sky channel 23, and feature shows including the complete Cul De Sac series, alongside Terry Teo, The New Legends of Monkey, Marvels Ultimate Spider-man and Marvel's Avengers: Ultron Revolution. DUKE Jr. will run from 10:30am until 3pm to make up for the gap in the TVNZ 2 kids programs.  On TVNZ 2 titles include Littlest Pet Shop and Be Cool Scooby Doo.

In a statement, TVNZ said that the change reflected the number of kiwi kids staying at home throughout the lockdown. "The schedule change acknowledges the nationwide school closures due to COVID-19 and the need for appropriate content on screen with Kiwi kids based at home over the coming weeks." they said.

TVNZ say tha further programmes for tamariki can be found online with TVNZ OnDemand and TVNZ and NZ on Air's HEIHEI.
