It is a sad, sad day today as Miniclip have officially announced that they are shutting down their servers, with only Agario and 8 Pool Ball remaining.

The feeling of coming home from school and getting on the internet to play games on Miniclip, or sitting in the computer room and having it pulled up in another tab to play behind the teachers back... good times.

The shutdown was inevitable, most of the games built off of Adobe Flash Player, which the technology industry, Steve Jobs in particular, have been vocal about moving away from since at least 2010.

The company is still operating, however they have switched their focus and will largly be selling mobile games - only fan-favourites Agario and 8 Pool Ball remaining online.

Many paid tribute on social media, writing 'RIP Miniclip', while another tweeted: "one day you played the last Miniclip game of your life and never even realised it."

It truly is the end of an era... RIP Miniclip, you will be missed.
