How sleep affects your calorie intake

You may have noticed that when you've had a pretty rough sleep that the next day you feel like you deserve a little treat or two.

According to a brand new study, you're not alone in feeling that - and there's scientific evidence to back up why you do. 

People aged between 18 and 65 that get less than 7 hours sleep per night will, on average, consume about an extra 385 calories the next day.

It influenced the subjects to choose more high fat foods to snack on than their healthy alternatives like fruit or veges.

The study concluded that people who get less sleep feel like they're entitled to treating themselves, so in getting 8-9 hours of sleep, you'll feel like eating a more balanced diet.
