It wasn't the cleanest fight but it was a fight that he won nonetheless and our world champ has held onto the belt for an extra fight longer.
Fighting against last minute call in Razvan Cojanu, Joseph Parker was made to work just to land some punches, as the big Romanian played mind games to keep his powerful combinations at bay. It was an extremely frustrating fight for Joseph to be a part of and for the paying crowd to watch, and there weren't many happy spectating the fight:
What a disappointing fight, heavyweights will be queueing to challenge Parker for the WBO belt #ParkerCojanu

Well done to Joseph Parker on a workmanlike 1st defence. Styles make fights & Cojanu wasn't there to win! On to bigger things👍#ParkerCojanu

On to bigger and better things for our champ, who's next on the list, only time will tell!
