US Singer Billie Eilish has been welcomed to Aotearoa with a pōwhiri at Auckland Airport.

Eilish was welcomed by the Hātea Kapa Haka group, who are known for their cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

This pōwhiri came with a bit of a twist however, after the Kapa Haka roopu performed a Māori waiata rendition of Billie Eilish's track "When the Party is Over".

The video of the pōwhiri and waiata was posted to Facebook by record label Universal Music NZ and has already had over 30,000 views since being posted this morning.

Eilish is yet to post about the pōwhiri to social media, but did take to her Instagram to share her excitement for her New Zealand shows.

"So unbelievably excited for tomorrows show" she posted, alongside a message saying that although she was 'SO sick', she was so excited to see all her fans on the tour.

Billie Eilish is set to perform at Auckland's Spark Arena tonight, 24th April.

Ātaahua! Beautiful waiata whānau!
