The Oscars took some heat for whitewashing this year but it seems like the Grammy's may have balanced out the universe!
The Internet is applauding quite a momentous occasion, at least in Grammy's history, as it reveals that a white male is not in the running for music's biggest award, Album of the year. In that list happens to be arguably one of New Zealand's greatest music talents, Lorde. There's a lot of controversy around this year's nominees and for all the good reasons!
The nominees are:
- Kendrick Lamar, 'DAMN'
- Jay-Z, '4:44'
- Bruno Mars, '24K Magic'
- Childish Gambino, 'Awaken my love!'
- And New Zealand's own Lorde, 'Melodrama'
There seems to be a heck of a lot of positivity with the naming of the Grammy nominees:
Notice anything about the 2018 Grammy nominations for album of the year?
