Kiwi actor Beulah Koale is set to make his Hollywood debut after the first trailer for his upcoming film Thank You For Your Service released today.
Born and raised in Auckland's Otara, Koale is of Samoan descent and will play an American Samoan character called Solo, based on the real life story of solider Tausolo Aieti.
The story is based on the a non-fiction book by David Finkel, which follows a group of soldiers who return from Iraq, haunted by the things they have seen and done in the war.
Koale is the latest in a long line of Shortland Street talent who have made the move to Hollywood, his Cul-de-Sac co-star KJ Apa, who recently found massive success with the hit CW series Riverdale.
Koale stars in the film alongside fellow Kiwi Keisha Castle-Hughes, Whiplash's Miles Teller and comic Amy Schumer.
The film is set to release in the US in October, but there is no New Zealand date as yet.
