Anthony Joshua has reached out to Joseph Parker's mum, after she admitted to being scared for her son's health when the boxers meet in the Cardiff heavyweight unification fight.

Britain's Joshua, the IBF/WBA/IBO belts holder, and Kiwi WBO champion Parker appeared on cordial terms at this week's London press conference, despite Parker's earlier jibe inferring Joshua uses steroids and bad blood between their managers.

On hearing of Sala Parker's concerns, Joshua said: "I'll put Parker in my prayers that he leaves the ring in good health, and he goes back to New Zealand and his family in good health, so that's the least I can do for his family.

This is just the beginning 👊🏼 see you in 8 🇬🇧

"A mother's love is unconditional so I respect that. Tell his mum not to worry – I hope he leaves the ring in safe condition."

Parker told his mum "just don't worry about anything it's all going to be alright" in the March 31 fight.
