Astley has dropped some pretty exciting news!
This morning on The Wake Up Call, Ast revealed that he has been helping his mother, fashion designer Kiri Nathan create a dress for our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern!
He said that to his surprise, his mum asked him by text saying: "Look, I need your help. I need you to help me make Jacinda Ardern's dress", to which he said: "Woaah. You know I've only cut out two things in my life and you want me to come help you do Jacinda Ardern's dress?!"
It wasn't until he turned up to help his mother with the "little things" that he actually cut out a pretty significant part of the dress - the COLLAR!
Luckily, apparently Ast's dress-making skills were up to scratch and he didn't ruin the dress!
Kiri is a well-known fashion designer in Aotearoa, and has previously designed clothing for Jacinda Ardern for an event with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Kiri has also designed a Korowai for the Governor General for an honours ceremony, where the Topp Twins, for example, got recognised for the work in their industry.
