We got kick-off of Tongan Language Week with a feast at the Pomee Fāmili Home 🤤🤩
Uike Kātoanga’i ‘o e lea faka-Tonga 🇹🇴 To mark the start of Tongan Language Week, Charlie invited the Flava fam into the Pomee fāmili home, and let’s just say, the feed did not disappoint.
Charlie's parents opened their doors and put on an incredible spread of traditional Tongan delicacies. From fresh ‘ota ika, to the rich flavours of lu pulu, and hearty taro and kumala, the table was packed with the kind of kai that speaks straight to the heart of Tongan culture.
But beyond the kai, it was the atmosphere that truly made the night special. As we sat around the table, Charlie’s dad, Talanoa, shared how important it is to eat together. He spoke about how his house has always been a place of gathering — where people are welcomed, food is shared, and connections are built.
“We all eat.” - Charlie echoed those words, explaining how his family has always lived by the simple but powerful value.
It was more than just dinner, it was a celebration of language, culture, and family. ❤️
