Fresh from two NZ Music Award nominations, Rei presents his latest single
Worry Bout Yourself
This song has attitude, revealing a complex and broody side of Rei... and we like what we hear!
‘Worry Bout Yourself’ is hip hop, RnB and pop with layers of moody textures and relatable lyrics, especially if you’ve ever had a broken heart. It’s a self-empowering track about finding your own feet and letting those heartstrings go to move forward and create a new path for yourself.
With flashbacks to synth-soaked hiphop 90s tunes, you’ll instantly feel the groove on ‘Worry Bout Yourself’. The track is co-produced by top NZ producer D. Love (Savage, Timmy Trumpet, Pieter T) and mixed & mastered by the legendary Chris Chetland, who has credits for Dua Lipa, SWIDT, Snoop Dogg, Bebe Rexha, and Savage.
‘Worry Bout Yourself’ follows up Rei’s VNZMA19 nominated album ‘The Bridge’, which has clocked over 3 milli streams online. The latest singles such as ‘Tumeke’, ‘Too Easy’ and ‘Younger’ smashed the playlists in 2019 and cemented Rei a dedicated fanbase, both on social media and for his 9 date nationwide tour of ‘The Bridge’ album.
‘The Bridge’ follows up on Rei’s success with his anthem ‘Good Mood’ which recently hit #1 on the Spotify United States Viral Chart, beating out Ariana Grande’s hit ‘thank u, next’ for the top spot. It also charted on the UK, Canada and NZ viral playlists.
‘Worry Bout Yourself’ kicks off Rei’s busiest Summer schedule yet, playing shows at NZ’s major festivals, RnV, Soundsplash and Splore, and supporting Sons of Zion on tour and more to come in 2020.
