James Packer finally opens up about what went down with Mariah Carey

James Packer and Mariah Carey's 18 month relationship was doomed to fail from the beginning, or at least that's what Packer thinks.

In a recent interview, billionaire James revealed that he has been living as a recluse since the split with Mariah, a side of him very new to the public.

He explained that he met Mariah when he was at a verylow point in his life, and she acted as a distraction from his personal at home life.

James was quoted as saying that the hit-maker "was kind, exciting and fun. Mariah is a woman of substance. She is very bright. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me."

Despite the rumors, it appeared that James just wanted to be with family. "I was attempting to build a business in North America to be closer to my kids. The travel was unsustainable. It hurts me a lot to be away from them. But I don’t want to be in LA at the moment."

He goes on to say that his biggest regret was letting his marriage with second wife Erica end."It is my biggest regret that I let my marriage to Erica fail. It is what it is and she is doing an incredible job with the kids and we are in a great place."

While he and Mariah don’t speak anymore, James is still close to Erica.
