Just when we thought Taika Waititi was the shining beacon for Māori and New Zealand in Hollywood at the moment, be prepared to put one more on your star radar!

If you haven't heard the name Keala Settle yet, then be prepared because the star of Māori heritage is going to be shining brightly in the near future! Settle plays a prominent role in The Greatest Showman and the song This is me, performed by the star with ties to New Zealand, won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.

The writers of the song Benji Pasek and Justin Paul made a special shoutout to the Settle in their acceptance speech, "Keala performed the song and her story inspired the song...so we thank you," they said.
