Donald Glover is bringing his Childish Gambino concert experience Pharos to New Zealand in November.

Announced on his app Pharos, and as reported by Vanity Fair, Pharos will be a three-day camping event running near Auckland from November 23-25.

No location has been announced yet, but information on the Pharos app says one will be announced in the coming weeks.

Pharos is described as a series of immersive, virtual reality live dome performances, at which new music will be featured as well as special guests.

Glover first performed the show at Joshua Tree, California in September 2016, performing inside a VR dome in the desert. Punters were asked to seal their phones in bags for the duration of the event.

"Pharos is meant to be a communal space — a place that evolves and reacts to the culture," Glover told Vanity Fair via email.

"We aren't tied to a format and that lets us adapt in a way that others can't. We're selling real intimacy ... We're looking at expanding the world in 2018 - there will be more artists involved."

Tickets are already on sale from the Pharos app at USD$149 (NZ$206.66). Tickets include access to camping areas.

It's a busy time for Glover, with season two of his hit series Atlanta scheduled to debut in America today.

He recently won the Grammy for best traditional R&B performance for his single Redbone.
